Colorado Musicians Playing in Support of Parkinsons Alliance
Friday 3/4 @ Cervantes Masterpiece Ballroom, Denver, CO.
Come out and support local musicians performing Little Feat's "Waiting
For Columbus" album for a special cause. The show is for the 3rd
annual Parkinson Alliance benefit. Last
year $22,000 was raised and hope to do even better this
year. In addition to the show, there will be a silent
auction and items for sale. Tickets are $20. All
proceeds, ticket sales, merch, and bar profit, go
directly to the Alliance.
The musicans are CR Gruver (Outformation) on keys,
Tori Pater (Polytoxic) vocals and guitar, Dave Watts
(Motet) on drums, Scott Messersmith (Motet) on
percussion, Spanky (Double Parked) on bass, Jessica
Goodkin (Chief Broom) vocals, and Dr Poz (Two Ton
Moxie) on saxophone. This is a rare combination of
some of Colorado's finest musicians, playing together
as a group for the very first time. This is a
one-and-only experience, never to be done again.
For those unfamiliar with "Waiting For Columbus", it
is heralded as one of the best live rock albums ever
recorded, and goes down as the greatest Little Feat
live show in print. The songs are thick with the funk
and stomp that made Little Feat a household name.
Expect alot of slide guitar, New Orleans piano,
soulful vocals, and funky bass.
