Up North Music and Art Festival
Boston based Up North Productions Inc. is proud to present the first annual Up North Music and Art Festival.
The three-day music, art and camping event will take place in the shadows of the White Mountains at the Ossipee
Valley Fairgrounds, Kezar Falls, in Hiram Maine. The festival will take place beginning Friday, August 8 and continue
through Sunday, August 10, 2008. Similar in concept to the All Good Festival and Wakarusa yet more intimate, Up North
Music and Art Festival will entertain approximately six thousand music fans throughout the three day festival. Music
fans are highly encouraged to purchase tickets in advance as this is a limited capacity venue and this event will sell
out. The initial artist line-up is anchored by legendary Grateful Dead Guitarist Bob Weir & RatDog. Joining the
festivities will be touring heavyweights and Chicago natives Umphrey’s McGee. The weekend will also feature The
Wailers, The Everyone Orchestra featuring Jon Fishman, Assembly of Dust, Railroad Earth, RJD2, Ryan Montbleau Band,
John Brown’s Body, Soulive, Lettuce, Giant Panda Guerilla Dub Squad, Spiritual Rez, The Indobox as well as many
others set to perform.
Up North Productions Inc. President, Rick Ginsburg, commented on the first annual festival: “It is our intent to bring a folks from all around the country to enjoy music and art, and celebrate this region in all its glory. The fairgrounds offer an intimate camping feeling, reminding me of when I was a kid vacationing up here with my family.” Lying on the border of the Lakes Region of New Hampshire, just forty minutes from Portland, ME, an hour from Portsmouth, NH and two and a half hours from Boston, MA, the Ossipee Valley Fairgrounds in Kezar Falls/Hiram Maine is easily accessible to all Northeast music fans.
Up North Productions Inc. will be promoting green initiatives in the designated “Green Life Pavilion” for eco-friendly companies displaying their green products. UN will also be supporting The Jimmy Fund/Dana Farber Cancer Institute, specifically their Creative Arts as Companion Cancer Therapy Program in this festival, through various on-site fund raising opportunities.
“This festival was conceived with the idea that music, art, and nature can bring legitimate good and healing to everyone involved.”
