BoomBox Plans Larger Than Life Summer
In the world of innovative and groundbreaking music, 2008 is the year of the BoomBox. With a new studio album in the works and a massive summer tour on the horizon, BoomBox is poised to deliver their unique musical message, combining decades of musical history and popular culture, to a whole new audience.
Hailing from legendary Muscle Shoals, Alabama, BoomBox incorporates the rich musical legacy of one of the most unassuming musical capitals in the world into their own musical resume. Known for being the birthplace of famous recordings by Aretha Franklin, Eric Clapton, Lynyrd Skynyrd and the Allman Brothers, Muscle Shoals has been widely recognized for its contributions to the music industry. Mixing danceable rhythms, hypnotic mixes and classic guitar phrases, BoomBox manages to leave their own mark on this affluent music community.
With DJ / producer Russ Randolph and singer / songwriter / guitarist Zion Rock Godchaux scripting timeless mixes, the BoomBox experience is equally inimitable and therapeutic all in the same. Known for their high-energy live shows, the DJ / guitarist interplay between Randolph and Godchaux is all performed in real time. Crafting a versatile palette of sonic adventure, BoomBox creates a sound that appeals to an extensive audience. For fans of all ages and musical influences, the duo’s blend of rock & roll, psychedelia and house stimulates the mind body and the soul.
Promising to be one of their biggest summers yet, BoomBox is gearing up for a gigantic US summer and fall tour. Audiences from up and down the east coast through the Midwest will get a taste of what is to come from the new studio album expected in the fall. With stops in a few familiar places as well as stops in several new cities, the duo looks forward to infecting the masses with the BoomBox vibe.
