Brett Dennen To Play The Mile High Main Stage 7/20

BrettDennen He is an opening act not to miss according to USA Today... "Concertgoers arriving early at three hot summer shows are getting more than a good parking spot. Find out why fans are likely to warm up to warm-up acts Brett Dennen (John Mayer Summer Tour), Liars (Radiohead) and Sharon Little (Robert Plant & Alison Krauss), each handpicked by the headliner."

TUNE IN to Fox & Friends Morning Show on Fox News Channel (Sat, 7/19 approx 8:30am est). In an important election year, John Mayer and Brett Dennen are joined on the road by Head Count, an org that registers fans to vote at each show. Brett talks about using your voice for change and talks about his upcoming plans for a new album in October.

Critics mention Paul Simon, Tracy Chapman and Jack Johnson when introducing Brett’s laid-back activism and strong songwriting.

John Mayer, an outspoken advocate of Brett’s music, previously told USA Today about his hopes to introduce new artists, like Brett, to his fans.

“It’s a popular approach to say, ‘Let’s get the biggest opening band we can get, because that will show everybody how big we are,” Mayer says. “I don’t think that’s constructive musically. I want people to see Dennen and say, ‘This guy is great, and I want to buy all his records.’”

CURRENTLY - Brett is a visually captivating folk rocker who is recording his next album, which is expected in October on Downtown Records (Gnarles Barkley, Cold War Kids). Brett Dennen & Mason Jennings recently co-headlined a tour and brought along Aussie import Missy Higgins. Brett joins Mayer’s summer tour throughout July.

PREVIOUSLY - His last album, SO MUCH MORE, has been an indie success (USA Today, Rolling Stone, Ent Weekly, Washington Post, NPR, Tonight Show, Jimmy Kimmel, Carson Daly).

With his long red hair, headband and guitar held high on his stocky frame, Brett Dennen seems an unlikely front-man for 2008, but the 28 year-old singer/songwriter/musician is the rare performer that radiates confidence and ease in his own skin, a quality that has earned him an increasingly devoted fan-base. And in tandem with constant touring and word-of-mouth buzz, high profile media attention and a successful album, it's no surprise Rolling Stone named Dennen as one of their "Artists to Watch in 2008".
