STATE RADIO “BIKES NOT BOMBS” CONCERT
Rock bands usually travel to their gigs in a bus or van.
But CHAD STOKES, lead singer and guitarist for the musically inventive and socio-politically conscious STATE RADIO,
will ride his own bicycle to the band’s August 2 show at Bank of America Pavilion on the Boston Harbor, the group’s
hometown. It’s his way of encouraging fans to reduce their carbon footprint by arriving by bicycle or taking public
transportation to this special concert to raise awareness for the Bikes Not Bombs organization
(http://www.stateradio.com/action). Tickets are available
here.
STATE RADIO--CHAD STOKES (singer/guitarist), CHUCK FAY (bass) and MIKE “MAD DOG” NAJARIAN (drums)--have partnered
with Bikes Not Bombs to offer fans a show for a great cause. “Although it seems a tall order, the more we empathize
globally with everyone living on this planet, we can create a consciousness moving towards peace,” says CHAD. “If we
want to watch our kids, grandkids and great-grandkids thrive we need to get together and see our similarities more
than our differences.” He adds: “Bikes Not Bombs offers a grassroots way for everyone to make an impact. It will be
great to see how many kids can actually take public transportation or ride their bike. The symbolism of easing off
the carbon footprint we all place on a daily level is a step in the right direction.”
